I am starting my 27th year of teaching.  The first  ten years of my  teaching career  were spent at Vonore Elementary School.  I taught Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades while at VES.  I came home to Madisonville Primary School in 2006 and I have been here ever since. Teaching is one of my passions and I love my job.  I am a wife to Dr. Phillip Swanson, a retired educator. Together we have 3 children.  We married in 2010 and became a blended family.  I was widowed at 35.  My first husband was Steven "Goose" Spradlin.  We had Thomas Spradlin and Leah Spradlin.  Thomas is a detective with the Madisonville Police Department. He is married to Caitlin Scruggs Spradlin, she is a Youth Service Officer with Monroe County.   Leah graduated from  University of Tennessee Knoxville and I in her 3rd year of Law School at Lincoln Memorial University School of Law.   Savannah is my "bonus" child.  She is a FNP at the Skin Wellness Center in Knoxville.  I love spending time with my family!  I love to travel, kayak, camp, go to the beach, hike and spend time with a great book!
