Introduction
Hi everyone! My name is Maria Fioravanti, and I am the Behavioral Health Therapist at Madisonville Primary School. I believe in the importance of providing a safe and trusting environment to help promote growth, and I am thrilled to be a part of an opportunity to provide this space in our school system! I received my Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lipscomb University where I specialized in child play therapy. I am working towards my license as a practicing counselor as well as becoming a certified play therapist. I utilize play and expressive art therapy to best fit my students’ needs. Play therapy and creative expression provide different media that serve as a form of natural communication that facilitates growth and change by accessing the child’s inner resources. In my downtime, I love to spend quality time with my family, friends, and my cats. I also love to express my creativity through art and crafts, my favorite self-care activity! Though I received my education in Middle Tennessee, as a Monroe County native, I am honored to return to give back to our community and to be a part of our students’ healing and growth.
